SEARCH was founded in 1989 as a faith-based, nonprofit organization supported by a Council of Congregations representing diverse ethnic, social, and spiritual backgrounds. Today, the Council of Congregations includes congregations of multiple faiths across Houston and Harris County. These congregations are committed to supporting SEARCH and our mission by providing spiritual guidance, volunteers, financial support, in-kind resources, and opportunities for people in need.
We welcome the participation of your faith community in our Council of Congregations. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Sondee Chalcraft at schalcraft@searchhomeless.org.
