This month we spotlight SEARCH’s cook extraordinaire, Billy Roberson! Billy has been with SEARCH for the past 5 years and has been such a great asset. For Billy, being able to serve the people and interact with them is the highlight of his day. “If I can make just a few minutes of their time easier, that makes me happy.”

Originally from Gainesville, Texas, Billy came to Houston in 1992. After his job painting columns for churches came to an end, he found himself unemployed and searching for a job that would be just as meaningful as his previous position. His friend and SEARCH’s Senior Accountant, Efrem Washington, gave him the lead.
Billy says that the volunteers that help him out in the kitchen, make his job fun and meaningful. Susie, of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, sings his praises, “I just love Billy. He is so positive, and always seems to be happy!”
Billy has a wonderful wife of 22 years and two children, a 28 year old son and a 26 year old daughter.
